Time to Reorganize

It's almost a new year and you know what that means..... its time to reorganize the house - especially all my craft stuff. I'm finally going to get everything into stackable clear bins with drawers and I'm even going to label each drawer so I can find stuff easier. By moving all my stuff out of the 'den' we can turn the room into a family room and have space to play with the Wii. I'm also getting a new desk to put in the dining room, which will be my new 'office'.

Happy New Year!

paper and glue, whereart you

Life is so busy these days that I haven't had time to create anything new for awhile. And I'm itchin' to! But alas, all my pretty papers and ribbons are tucked away in drawers. My stickers are somewhere in the den. A basket of scissors, glue, hole punches and other tools are sitting in a basket on the dresser.

I yearn for pretty pictures. And I want so badly to join in the group challenges with my etsy teams and other groups.

Reading about what others are doing in the studios makes me want to try new things and play with new materials.....

I did get a chance to post a new item to my etsy store, check it out: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=32614736

I love those old scientific journal pages with plants or animals on them.

Pumpkin Patch

My husband and I took our 3 year old to the big pumpkin patch today after church. My gosh, they have so many fun things for the kids to do now. He rode on the "cow train", drove a toy tractor

jumped on the giant inflatable pillow

we went for a hay ride, ran threw and jumped over the big pumpkins, and said hi to all the little animals. Whew, were we worn out! But we had such a good time.

I wish I could capture the feeling of Fall in a piece of art!

My newest idea ..... Keepin' Cards

Keepin' Cards are the solution to the question "what do you do with a greeting card after the occasion?"
Keepin' Card is the front of the card only (no fold) and has a space on the back for a personal, hand-written message. It fits in an envelope (included) and can be mailed.
After the receiver opens and reads the card, The Keepin' Card can be hung on the wall as a keepsake and/or decoration. It's like giving a card and a gift all in one!
This has been a big hit with my family and friends!

The first one is listed at my Etsy shop and more will be coming.  http://www.blissedpaperarts.etsy.com/

New piece: Pink Blessings

I listed a new piece on Etsy yesterday. Pink Blessings - look over to the right column.  It took some doing, as my 3 year old was 'helping' me with the final touches. We had buttons all over the floor and toothpicks became his new fascination. (toothpicks being used for glue touch ups)

I'm also enjoying following the Etsy Melange Team, a group of mixed media artists. I love looking at their work in their Etsy shops and checking out their blogs. Its so fun to see others self expression through their art. So creative and some are so bold and daring.

I Was Chosen for a Treasury!!!!

I was chosen for an Etsy Treasury!  This is my first one. I'm so excited!! I just listed this item today. How cool.  Here is the treasury link: http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=86106

My plan is to list one new item each day. I have quite a few pieces done. I worked hard over the summer to stock up my inventory because I was supposed to do an art and craft show, but it fell through. So lots of art hanging around the house, ready to be listed on Etsy.

Today I will attempt to make blackberry freezer jam.

We have lots (and I mean lots) of wild blackberries here on the farm. I've been picking and freezing them so we'll have them over the winter. (I have a really yummy blackberry cobbler recipe I plan on making over the holidays) Then I had the brilliant idea of making blackberry jam. Since I don't have the glass jars or the huge pot you need to bath the jars, I thought I'd try my hand at freezer jam.

I braved the scary woods and the big spider webs to pick a big bowl of berries. It's sitting on the kitchen counter watching me..... I guess I better get started.....

Welcome to Blissed!

How excited are you??!! I'm finally getting down to business and starting a blog. Well, I'm excited. But also kinda nervous.... I've never blogged before. As a matter of fact, I've been resisting the whole virtual social networking sites, hoping that its 'just a trend'. But alas, it looks like its catching on. Martha Stewart even had a segment on her show today about social networking. Well, if Martha can do it, so can I.

So, what is so interesting about me and my life that you would want to read about it? Hum....

I have to admit, I'm doing this for purely selfish reasons. I have two businesses to promote and everyone seems to think that this is the way to do it.

My first business is Blissed Paper Arts. I love playing with paper, glue, ribbon, fabric..... I love pictures of birds and flowers..... I love vintage stuff, springtime, long walks on the beach....

I want to share my art with others. So I started an Etsy store, blissedpaperarts.etsy.com.

Stop right here and go check out my store. I'll wait........

dum dee dum do do do la la llllaaaaa

What did you think? I have lots more to put on there so check back. My problem has been getting the photos of the items to look right. Its tougher than I thought it would be.

My second business is being a referral partner for a wellness company. This business has been a priority lately, because frankly, we need the money. Property tax hike - let's leave it at that.

I love the company and the products (free of toxins and harmful chemicals and they're better than store brands, less expensive too) and would love to share with you. Go to IWorkFromHomeAndLoveIt.com for more info. Please.

Well there you go. I did it. I wrote my first blog post. Oh so scary, but oh so satisfying.
